In the series Styros, I carved into blocks of styrofoam packaging until the negative, the packaging form, began to become a sculpture opening all around into the room. Styrofoam packaging is also an "imprint" of space between some content and its containing box; seen this way, I manipulated space as matter.

By melting some pieces of the series Styros into aluminium, the eternal life of plastic becomes immortal life of aluminium - a twisted monumentality.
