Old and New
2002-04
In these pieces of furniture, selected elements, which could be considered for a "second" life, are taken from used. This is the starting point to create new ones. As a rule is taken, that for each design, only one used and one new element is combined. The original function of the used one is shifted around and re-thought in it's structural and esthetical values. With the addition of a new designed element an unexpected new design is created, which at the same time has the historical content and patina of the reused one. Some of these pieces of furniture are made out of discarded Swiss school-furniture. They were created in collaboration with R. Zecchino and sold in different stores in Switzerland, Germany and France a.o. in the BlackBlock boutique of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and shown in fairs a.o. Blickfang in Zurich.
