Theorem
Big-Bang, Meter and Multiverse
Die Diele
Zurich 2015
Theorem takes place in the art-space Die Diele in Zurich. It combines the works Big-Bang, Meter and Multiverse, displayed in the two showcases as a scientific collection. In Big Bang a nail sticks out, point forward, from a black square on a grey cardboard. Next to it stands another grey cardboard plate with a black stripe measuring one meter. In the other showcase one hundred sheets of paper with patterns of extending colour are labelled "Multiverse". At first glance, the two contrasting formal languages seem incompatible, but on closer inspection cross-connections become apparent: for example, "Multiverse" is not flat, but perforated by holes and the colour protrudes as peaks from the paper-level, like the nail in "Big Bang". Theorem is about overcoming opposites: rationality and irrationality, two and tree dimensionality, uniqueness and multiplicity…
