Somewhere, 2017-20

A standard box containing five packets with five hundred sheets of A4-format paper. It takes me two and a half uninterrupted hours laying down the 2’500 sheets on the forest ground. As I lay down the sheets, a gentle wind blows leaves down onto the white, empty pages.

Everyday objects influence our spatial behaviour - even if not always obviously. In Somewhere, they are placed in the forest: converted, misappropriated or just unfolded, they briefly create unexpected, poetically-charged situations. Through photo and video documentation, spectators discover the work later and somewhere else through photography and video - a double distancing.
